• The Visual Arts Department of MishawakaHigh School is more than just a classroom experience. There is a creative culture that welcomes the students into a family of artists.

Whether through the experiences in the classroom, building relationships during open studio or NAHS, involving students in community art events, submitting works in area, Regional and National art competitions, or touring Europe through our travel abroad summer art trips, Mishawaka Visual Arts welcomes you to a place where you can be your own creative self.

  • National Art Honor Society National Art Show

Each year, National Art Honor Society hosts an National Art Show. This opportunity is given to students within the organization, and this is Mishawaka High School's first year with the club in place. We entered a few pieces of art this year, and only one was accepted. That piece was drawn by Taft Spiess. This is a huge accomplishment for Taft, as the show hosts students from across the country. Taft is one of 66 students that had artwork chosen from 1,160 submissions. We can all be proud of Taft, and if you see him, please congratulate him. Taft

  • The Northwest Indiana and lower Southwest Michigan Regional Scholastic Art Awards

Over a 100 schools entered with 3,645 works submitted. 800 works were awarded for this year’s exhibit. Mishawaka took a tenth of those awards and did especially well in the Drawing and Illustration walking away with a fifth of the awards in that category. This was once again our best year.
