Sara Hoover Receives Presidential Award of Excellence

Beiger Elementary School Project Lead the Way Teacher, Sara Hoover, is a recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST). This award honors the dedication, hard work, and important role that America’s teachers and mentors play in supporting learners who will be future STEM professionals, including climate scientists, mathematicians, innovators, space explorers, and engineers.

Courtney Koszyk, Principal at Beiger Elementary School stated: “It is our great pleasure to congratulate Sara on this tremendous accomplishment. Thank you so much for bringing so much to our students and definitely School City of Mishawaka. We are so grateful.”

Mrs. Hoover is one of only 117 recipients throughout the United States. This is an elite award for a teacher to receive and only two teachers from Indiana received this award.

Wayne Barker, Superintendent shared, “It is awesome what you are as a teacher, who you are as a person. We are so proud of you for everything that you do for our kids and your colleagues and how you represent our school district. This honor is the elite of the elite. We couldn’t be more proud to have you  representing us with this award. Congratulations.”
