Elementary Athletics
Welcome to Elementary Athletics!
The goal of Mishawaka Athletics is to give your child a first class experience so they can see what it’s like to play on a team and represent their school. We give young student athletes the chance to compete with kids from other Mishawaka Schools while they learn from coaches and officials. This is the time to learn how to be a good sport and most of all, have fun! Our coaches understand that a positive experience is the goal and we don’t want to discourage anyone from participating in the future.
At Mishawaka, we promote multi-sport student athletes. It’s important that “student” comes first in that equation. Playing sports is a privilege that comes with doing the right things in the classroom and at home. You should be proud that your student athlete is representing one of our Mishawaka schools. Please keep in mind when they are competing, they are playing against other Future Cavemen. The “One Mishawaka" thought process should come into play as we are all working together.

JYMS Fall Sports
JYMS SPORTS PHYSICAL NIGHT
- DATE: Monday, July 27, 2026
- TIME: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM
- LOCATION: JYMS
- MHS PHYSICAL DATES: May 14, 2026 & June 22, 2026 - see CavemenSports.com for times.
Important Information:
- Sports physicals will be available for $25 (cash only).
- If a sports physical has already been completed after April 1, 2026, please bring the completed physical form to your child's first practice or turn it in to the JYMS office.
- All physicals must be completed on the IHSAA physical form. This form can be found on the JYMS website or picked up in the JYMS office.
- All participants must have a completed physical form on file before beginning practice or tryouts.
FALL SPORTS DATES
- Cheerleading Tryouts: April 23-25, 2026
- Volleyball Tryouts: July 29-31, 2026
- Soccer Tryouts: July 29-31, 2026
- Football Orientation and Equipment Pick-up: July 31, 2026
- Cross Country Practice Begins: August 3, 2026
Tryouts are held for Soccer, Volleyball, and Cheerleading only. Football and Cross Country do not have tryouts.
Information for winter and spring sports (Basketball, Wrestling, and Track) will be shared at a later date.
PARTICIPATION FEE & REGISTRATION
All JYMS student-athletes participating in a school-sponsored sport are required to pay a participation fee. The fee for next school year has not yet been announced. The current fee is $25 per sport, due the Friday before the first contest.
Sports registration is completed online at: www.mishawaka-in.finalforms.com.
Registration must be completed before the first practice after team selections are finalized. Students may not participate in practices or contests until all forms are completed.

MHS Event Policies
Please note the policies below so you are prepared when attending an athletic event at Mishawaka High School:
- No outside food or drinks
- No bags larger than 6” x 9” x 1.5”
- Diaper bags and medical bags allowed, but subject to search
- No animals with the exception of service animals
- Tobacco and vapor products prohibited
- High school and middle school students must have an ID
- Elementary students must be accompanied by an adult

IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Passes do not include IHSAA, NLC Tourneys, MHS Tourneys, JYMS or Elementary games.
- Misuse of season tickets will void the passes for the remainder of the year.
- Tickets can be purchased online (Cavemensports.com/digital-tickets) or at the event.
