School City of Mishawaka Receives 2026 Best Communities for Music Education Award

School City of Mishawaka has been honored with the 2026 Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) Award from The NAMM Foundation, recognizing the district’s outstanding support and commitment to music education. This achievement marks the seventh year SCM has received this national distinction.
The BCME Award program recognizes K–12 school districts and schools across the United States that demonstrate excellence in providing students with access to high-quality music education. In 2026, more than 1,000 institutions—including public, private, charter, and parochial schools—were selected for this honor.

Award recipients are chosen through a comprehensive evaluation process that examines critical factors such as funding, instructional time, participation rates, facilities, and community support. To maintain the program’s rigor, all applications are independently reviewed and verified by WolfBrown.

This recognition reflects the collective efforts of SCM’s educators, students, administrators, and community members.
