School City of Mishawaka is proud to announce that the Mishawaka Building Trades program has been recognized by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education and the Indiana Department of Education as a recipient of the 2026 Career and Technical Education (CTE) Awards for Excellence.

Mishawaka Building Trades received the award in the category of Secondary Partnership, one of several honors presented to outstanding students, educators, counselors, partners, and programs across Indiana. The awards recognize organizations and individuals who demonstrate excellence in Career and Technical Education through leadership, innovation, community involvement, and student success.

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education and Indiana Department of Education highlighted the importance of CTE programs in preparing students for high-skill, high-demand careers in areas such as advanced manufacturing, digital technology, healthcare, agriculture, and the skilled trades.

“Congratulations to the students, educators, and programs recognized for their outstanding achievement in Career and Technical Education,” said Indiana Secretary of Education Dr. Katie Jenner. “CTE inspires students to discover their passions, build real-world skills, and pursue their unique future aspirations.”

The Mishawaka Building Trades program provides students with meaningful, hands-on learning experiences while developing technical knowledge, employability skills, and career readiness. Students in the program gain real-world experience in construction and related trades while contributing positively to the community.

This recognition reflects the dedication of the program’s students, instructors, and community partners who continue to create exceptional opportunities for career-focused learning.

Congratulations to everyone involved with Mishawaka Building Trades on this outstanding achievement.
