Learning to Stay Safe: Twin Branch 2nd Graders Visit Survive Alive House

Safety education came to life on September 5, 2025 for Mrs. Branson’s 2nd grade class from Twin Branch Elementary School during a special visit to the Survive Alive House at the brand-new McKinley Fire Station.

With guidance from our dedicated partners at the Mishawaka Fire Department, students learned essential fire safety skills through hands-on, interactive activities. From how to safely exit a smoky room to what to do if they hear a smoke alarm at night, our young learners walked away with knowledge that could one day save lives — and they’re eager to share what they’ve learned with their families at home!

A huge THANK YOU to the Mishawaka Fire Department for their continued commitment to educating and protecting our community’s children. Your support makes a lasting difference!

We’re proud to share that every 2nd grade class in School City of Mishawaka will have the opportunity to visit the Survive Alive House this year — another step in our mission to help students learn, grow, and thrive in every way.
